1. Regular Engine Oil Maintenance
Engine oil plays an important role in reducing friction and protecting internal components such as the crankshaft, bearings, and camshaft.
Recommended maintenance:
Check oil level before every operation
Replace engine oil according to working hours and operating conditions
Use qualified diesel engine oil with suitable viscosity
Dirty or insufficient oil may cause excessive wear, overheating, and reduced engine life.
2. Air Cooling System Inspection
Most DEUTZ FL912/913 engines use an air-cooling system. The cooling fins and fan system must remain clean to ensure proper heat dissipation.
Maintenance points:
Clean dust and dirt from cooling fins regularly
Check fan belt tension
Inspect cooling air passages
Poor airflow may lead to high engine temperature and power loss.
3. Fuel System Maintenance
A clean fuel system ensures stable combustion and reduces fuel consumption.
Important checks:
Replace fuel filters regularly
Use clean diesel fuel
Check injector performance
Inspect fuel injection pump condition
A damaged injector or incorrect injection timing may cause black smoke, difficult starting, and unstable operation.
4. Pump Coupling and Operating Inspection
The connection between the DEUTZ engine and water pump should be checked regularly.
Operators should inspect:
Coupling alignment
Vibration level
Abnormal noise
Bolt tightness
Incorrect alignment can increase vibration and damage both the engine and pump.
