If your DEUTZ BFL2011 engine is suffering from piston crown burning around the valve pockets – especially on cylinder #3 – the correct service replacement is piston kit 0428 6721, not 0428 6720 or any D2011 piston. The BFL2011 is a turbocharged, charge air‑cooled variant of the FL2011 base engine, and its piston uses a steel top ring carrier plus a hard‑anodized combustion bowl rim to resist micro‑welding under sustained boost. Each kit includes one piston (92mm bore), three rings (top ring with chrome‑ceramic coating), a fully floating pin, and two circlips. Unlike aftermarket sellers who list one piston for “all 2011 series”, we separate BFL2011 from BFM2011, because the wrist pin offset and compression height differ by 0.8mm – install the wrong one and the piston will hit the cylinder head.
